Benefits of exercise on health

There are many benefits of exercise on health. These include:

  • People who exercise on a regular basis tend to be happier. As we exercise the "feel good" hormone Serotonin kicks in and rewards us for getting physical.
  • Those of us who exercise on a regular basis tend not to be overweight. This has the added advantage that our clothes look good. (Is there anything worse than wearing tight / restrictive clothing?)
  • Our skin, hair and nails are healthy
  • Our muscles are firm and strong, and assuming we have a normal body fat level, they will be defined.
  • As we age, our bodies will be better able to cope with the hormonal changes and the physical aspects of getting older.
  • Our cardiovascular system works well and we won't suffer climbing up the stairs etc.
  • And we tend to sleep better too.

Whilst these are just a few of the benefits that exercise has on health (and we know that what we eat also plays a huge part) it does make me wonder why people still don't want to exercise.

Go on - it's good for you.
