Do you think you need a sugar fix - then reach for the cereal
A British study found a range of popular cereals contained high levels of salt and sugar. If you think that eating cereal is good for you and your body - you might like to read the nutritional labels very carefully.
Sugary cereals on par with chocolate
New studies from MySupermarket.co.uk have revealed that a bowl of cereal contains as much salt and sugar as a jam doughnut or a slice of chocolate cake.
The problem I've found with eating cereals is really the same as eating most refined carbohydrate foods - they break down quickly in the body, raises the blood sugar level and I'm hungry again far sooner than if I had eaten some form of protein and good fiber based foods. Whilst they can give you a quick energy boost, like all refined carbs, for a longer sustained way to increase your energy levels - most popular cereals are probably not the best choice.
