Which came first the desire to exercise or the energy needed to exercise?
Which came first the desire to exercise or the energy needed to exercise?
It is an interesting question isn't it.
If you haven't exercise in a while, you may find you don't have the energy to even think about it, let alone do it. Yet there is ample evidence to say that if we do some kind of exercise, no matter what it is, we will get more than just an increase in energy levels.
So am I saying, just get on and do it?
Actually yes. Unless you are running a temperature or injured, there is no reason why you cannot do some kind of exercise. And there is so much to choose from these days it doesn't have to be personal training or weight bearing exercise at the gym. (WHAT AM I SAYING!!!)
Seriously:
- What exercise did you enjoy doing as a child / teen / growing up. If you enjoyed it then, chances are going to be good you will enjoy it now.
- What have you always wanted to try? Snowboarding, skiing, jumoing rope, boxing, zumba, tennis, horseriding, dancing, pole dancing?
- Can you incorporate your exercise into your normal and every day? Can you walk to work or part way to work? Can you get off a few stops earlier and walk the rest of the way? Can you ride your bike to work? Can you take the stairs rather than using the elevator? Can you walk during your lunch break? How about getting some friends together and having a game of frisbee in the park of backyard cricket with the kids.
Everything can be exercise if you think about it. Even things like gardening and housework can be used to get more movement into your day. Put on some music and dance your way through the chores.
As you do I am sure you will find you have far more energy than you ever thought possible.
