Is Water the Key to Weight Loss?

Weight Loss - Is something as simple as drinking 2 glasses of water before every meal the key to successful weight loss? As we mentioned in our previous article, there are many benefits to drinking water and a lot of it. But now timing may also be crucial in our weight loss journey.

Researchers from the US compared weight loss in people who drank half a litre of water before every meal with those who merely watched what they ate - and it appears to be the case.

Easy weight-loss tip: drink water before every meal

Over a three-month period, the water drinkers lost an average of 7kg, 2.25kg more than the non-water-drinkers, the American Chemical Society's annual conference was told.

 If we are used to over-eating or eating until we "feel" full, chances are we've eaten too much. Therefore filling the stomach with water before eating can help our bodies and minds get to the feel full feeling on far fewer calories. One of the researchers of this study had previously found that drinking 2 glasses of water before each meal ate up to 375 fewer kilojoules per meal, which might not seem like much - but over the course of one day equals 1250 kilojoules...
