January 1st I made the decision to stop wasting time and to buckle down and get rid of 20 kilos.
My previous weight loss pattern went something like this ... weight loss starts first in my face, then moves down the body - and by the time I get my hips and thighs sorted out I'm bored and off the diet / weight loss program.
And then I realised this time I was doing something different ... I was weight training. I was putting on muscle, gaining definition and my body was changing shape / losing weight in entirely a different pattern. It has still gone from my face first, but also weird places like my feet are smaller, my fingers have thinned. Some months the weight has moved from my back, other times nothing from my back but my legs have changed shape, yet other times my arms have toned up... just goes to show you can't spot reduce anywhere. But consistently the only place that hasn't shifted dramatically has been the area around my navel. And the one area where I do carry belly fat - and a lot of it. That first arrived when I was pregnant with my daughter some 20 years ago and has never totally disappeared. But I am hopeful that the new program, the better nutrition and the much better personal training given to me by Hils will finally give me the flat tummy I would dearly love to have.
